Lord Ganesh is treated as first god in Hindu religion. Lord Ganesh is eldest son to god shiva and Goddess Gauri(parvathi).
Ganesh chathurthi is a 11-day festival will be grantly celebrated all over in India from 23rd August 2009.
Lord Ganesh is worshipped first before starting any work. It is believed that if a clay figure of lord ganesh is worshipped and dissolve in water, the sadness in the house will dissolve like clay dissolving in water
There are many ways to worship god on Ganesh Chathurti.
Some of the method followed by great Pundit to get blessings of Lord Ganesh is given below.
1. A small clay figure of Lord Ganesh should be brought to the house on Ganesh Chaturthi
2. Make some sweets and do aradhana before that clay figure of lord Ganesh.
3. After one hour, offer the sweets you made to the two or more poor children around your house(since Lord Ganesh likes the child, so if you offer them sweets it is equal to giving them directly to god).
4. After that go to a temple nearest to your location and do prayers for Lord Ganesh
5. After 2-3 days of prayer, just think whatever you want to happen in your life and dissolve the ganesh figure in any water medium near you (river, Lake, Well, etc..).
Then everything will happen upon your will
